Emma Russell

Dance Coach at Wicked Academy

My Story

Emma first discovered her love of performing at age 15 when she auditioned for her school production — and from that moment on, she was hooked. She went on to train at Reynolds Performing Arts College, where her passion for movement, performance, and creativity grew even stronger.

With a love of sport supporting her dance career, one of Emma’s earliest professional jobs was as a trampoline stunt woman for an advert — setting the tone for a wonderfully varied career. She has performed in Bollywood films, theatre and television both in the UK and abroad, been a magician’s assistant (yes, she’s even been sawn in half!), and brought joy and entertainment to soldiers while performing in war zones to boost morale. Alongside her stage work, Emma has always kept one foot in the studio, teaching, choreographing, and even running her own entertainment company.

Never one to stop learning, Emma went on to earn a degree in Dance, Sport and Exercise Science before training to become a secondary school teacher. She is now proud to be Head of Dance, where she channels her boundless passion for movement into inspiring the next generation of performers.

Whether she’s teaching, performing, or dancing about with her two little girls, Emma’s trademark “em”-ergy is always full out!
