Tom Swift

Principal of Wicked Academy

My Story

Tom Swift has spent over fifteen years knee-deep in glitter, greasepaint, and glorious chaos—writing, directing, and producing pantomimes that bring the house down with laughter (and occasionally a flying prop or two).

He began his theatrical life as a panto comic, touring professionally across the UK and even entertaining audiences overseas. But after appearing in countless shows that just didn’t zing the way they should, Tom decided to take matters into his own jazz hands. So he founded Wicked Productions, and gave himself permission to be as magical, mischievous, and marvellously silly as he liked.

Since then, Tom has conjured up an impressive back catalogue of family favourites, including Rapunzel, Treasure Island, Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, The Wizard of Oz, Robin Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Peter Pan, Aladdin, Rapunzel Rocks, The Little Mermaid, Alice in Wonderland, and The Jungle Book. His shows are packed with big laughs, heartwarming moments, and just the right amount of mayhem.

But Tom’s talents don’t stop at fairy tales and fishnets.

He’s a bit of a legend in the scare attraction world, too—dreaming up spine-tingling frights for Freak Week at The Hop Farm, Porky’s Fear Factory at Vic Halls, The Hatch at Harlow Playhouse, Screamland at Dreamland Margate, and Extreme Sleepover at Tully’s Farm. If you’ve screamed in the dark at Halloween... odds are, Tom was behind it.

He's also a magic man—literally. As a creator and consultant for TV magicians and illusionists, his tricks have wowed audiences around the globe (and fooled more than a few grown-ups along the way).

Oh, and if that’s not enough, he co-owns Clue Cracker, an award-winning escape room experience in Tunbridge Wells with four thrilling rooms full of puzzles, props, and plot twists. And his latest adventure? Bogey’s—a retro-themed indoor crazy golf course that opened in October 2024 and is already a smashing success. (Yes, there are UV lights. And yes, it’s glorious.)

But of all the roles Tom’s played, his favourites are Dad to the amazing Amelie and husband to his brilliant and supportive wife. He’s working hard on the greatest balancing act of all—fitting family adventures in between curtain calls.

Now, as Principal of Wicked Academy, Tom couldn’t be more thrilled to help shape the next generation of wickedly talented performers. Whether they’re future West End stars or just here to build confidence and have a blast, Tom’s mission is simple: make it magical, make it memorable, and make it fun.
